This is the picture from Wood-Craft Centre, Siolim where the workers are engaged in carving on wood. At this unit carved furniture are manufactured as per the order received from customers and design received from them. This has a good local market. Department participates in Exhibitions, meals to promote their sale.
The furniture seen in the picture is carved furniture, manufactured out of Rosewood at WoodCraft Centre, Siolim.
In this trade training has pertained to the interested candidates and a stipend of Rs. 1,000/- per month to general & OBC and Rs. 1,500/- per month to SC/ST candidates is paid. The training period duration of 6 months for a full working day after completion of the course the Trade Excellency Certificate is issued by the Department.
